Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting

The University of Kentucky is inviting applications for multiple tenure-eligible positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Von Allmen School of Accountancy. The successful candidate will engage in teaching, research, and service, with an emphasis on high-level research and classroom instruction, while also having an expectation to publish in top accounting journals.

Responsibilities

The anticipated initial Distribution of Effort will be 30% teaching, 65% research, and 5% service for an assistant professor or 30% teaching, 60% research, and 10% service for an associate professor
Applicants should submit the following materials: 1) Letter of application (upload as Cover Letter), 2) Curriculum Vitae, and 3) job market paper (upload as Specific Request 2)
In addition, please provide the names and contact information for at least three references when prompted in the academic profile
This information may be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system
Applications must be received no later than October 31, 2025, for full consideration, but will be accepted until the positions are filled
We plan to conduct initial interviews shortly after this date, followed by campus visits in late fall 2025 and/or early spring 2026

Required

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field, or may be ABD with expected completion of their Ph.D. by August 2026
Candidates should have an active research program demonstrating capacity for high level research and have an excellent record of classroom instruction
Applicants should have an expectation to publish research in top journals such as TAR, JAR, CAR, AOS, RAST, JAE, or comparable outlets
