Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Research Assistant for a grant-supported project aimed at establishing a UAV Design and Development Laboratory. This role involves multidisciplinary engineering tasks related to the design, prototyping, and testing of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), providing hands-on experience in drone development and real-world engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

Support a long-term, grant-supported project titled "Establishment of a UAV Design and Development Laboratory and Student Team."

Take part in multidisciplinary engineering tasks including UAV frame design, electronics setup, flight systems programming, and autonomous navigation research

Provide hands-on experience in drone development and real-world engineering challenges

Engage in opportunities for research, technical documentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and publication in conferences and journals

Qualification

Required

Prior hands-on experience with drone or UAV design, remote-controlled aircraft etc

Basic proficiency in programming and hardware integration (servos, receiver, transmitter, ESC, batteries, motors, propellers etc.) for remote controlled drones and airplanes

Candidates should demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
