Adult Neuropsychologist

Responsibilities

Providing outpatient neuropsychological evaluation services to individuals referred by subspecialty clinics including epileptology, neuro-oncology, cognitive neurology, vascular neurology, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, neuromuscular, as well as general neurology referrals from other MaineHealth neurology practices within the state
Joining a well-established neurology department consisting of subspecialty trained adult and pediatric neurologists, a neuropsychologist, and advanced practice professionals supported by a robust clinical and administrative team, including onsite behavioral health clinicians and psychometrist
Opportunity to teach neurology residents, residents and fellows from other departments, and medical students
Weekly didactics and other inter- and intradepartmental continuing education opportunities throughout the year
Opportunity to develop and co-lead a postdoctoral psychology program in the future

Required

Doctoral degree from a licensure eligible psychology program which at the time the degree was granted was accredited by the American Psychological Association, Canadian Psychology Association, or was listed in the publication Doctoral Psychology Programs Meeting Designation Criteria
Two years of postdoctoral neuropsychology training consistent with American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology/American Board Professional Psychology board certification eligibility
Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist by the Maine Board of Examiners of Psychologists
Board certification or eligibility for certification in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology/American Board Professional Psychology within 3 years of employment
A minimum of five years of clinical experience providing neuropsychological services in a medical/clinical setting
The equivalent of two years (full-time) postdoctoral experience and specialized training in the study and practice of clinical neuropsychology and related neurosciences supervised by a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist
Experience in presurgical epilepsy evaluations, including Wada testing
Necessary personal, professional, and interpersonal skills required to conduct neuropsychological evaluations and interventions with patients and their families as well as to work effectively as a member of a diverse health care team
