Traffic Signing/Marking Technician II
The City of Moreno Valley is seeking a Traffic Signing/Marking Technician II for their Public Works Department. Responsibilities
Performing a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signs and street markings
Operating specialized equipment to apply and remove pavement markings
Designing and fabricating traffic and street name signs
Ensuring the safe and effective placement of traffic control devices
Assisting with inventory management
Preparing daily work reports
Responding to emergency call-outs as needed
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or G.E.D equivalent
Three years of experience performing traffic marking and traffic sign fabrication
Strong working knowledge of traffic control practices, paint types, marking materials, and geometric layouts
Ability to operate striping machines, hydraulic paint equipment, and other specialized tools with precision
Adept at using software and computer applications to design and construct custom signage and vehicle graphics
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and manuals
Commitment to safety and applying safe work practices
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with City staff, management, and the public
Reliable and collaborative with problem-solving skills
Preferred
Hands-on experience in traffic marking and sign fabrication
At least three years of experience in traffic marking and sign fabrication
