Responsibilities

Assist with logistics and coordination of summer orientation, Gone to Natural Sciences, and other events
Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of student assistants. Oversee all student worker activities and responsibilities
Oversee processing of University and College forms; maintain conference room schedules and daily operations, supply and storage rooms; provide administrative support as needed to advisors and counselors
Provide an enhanced customer service experience to a diverse population of stakeholders of the CNS Student Division, non-academic coordinators and the Natural Sciences Advising Center, with a primary focus on creating an inclusive environment while aiding students, explaining and enforcing policies and procedures, and provide resources and College information to current students
Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS

Required

At least one year experience at the Administrative Assistant level with a Bachelor's Degree
Student customer service
Capability to use technology on a daily basis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with both peers and students
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Preferred

More than the required amount of experience in higher education
Ability to think strategically and interact tactically with student populations in an effective and empowering manner
Demonstrated ability in working with cross-functional teams, including coordinating work and driving change at all levels of the organization
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Comfort with ambiguity and changing priorities

Benefits

Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
