Geology Intern - Summer 2026

WSP USA is hosting internships across the United States for students to gain hands-on work experience. The Geology Intern will support geological tasks, assist field staff, and prepare project deliverables while gaining exposure to real projects in the Earth and Environment Team.

Responsibilities

Support a variety of geological tasks while working with our Site Investigation and Remediation team
Learn basic principles of the SUPERFUND process
Assist field staff at project sites in support of remediation, due diligence, compliance, monitoring, and construction
Assist with preparation of project deliverables such as proposals, reports, figures, graphs, and tables
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

Actively enrolled in an accredited Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, or related, Undergraduate (juniors or seniors preferred) program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
Must be 18 or older
Demonstrates interest in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects
Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week; approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Monday to Friday) this summer for approximately 3 months; field work days may be longer
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
Safely performing work, in the office and potentially in the field. Fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment (with the ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds without assistance), and operating vehicles on behalf of the company
Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship

Preferred

Actively enrolled in an accredited Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, or related, Master's or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus
