Tax Associate - Sales and Use Tax

They are seeking an Associate in Sales and Use Tax to prepare and file tax returns, support audits, and assist with process improvements in the Partner Tax organization.

Responsibilities

Prepare and file state/local sales and consumers use tax returns and support state and local sales tax audits
Process exemption certificates for purchases
Reconcile sales and use tax general ledger account activity to reported tax
Respond to sales tax-related inquiries from KPMG personnel
Assist with sales tax registrations for KPMG entities as needed; monitor monthly filings calendar
Support the development and implementation of process improvements and assist with other projects as needed
Act with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualification

Tax compliance experienceAccounting degreeMicrosoft Office proficiencyIndependent work abilityProject management skills

Required

Minimum two years of recent tax and/or accounting experience, preferable with emphasis in compliance
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
Strong ability to work independently and with team members
Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
