Top Metal Solutions LLC specializes in high-quality metal fabrication, and they are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented CAD Drafter. This role involves developing 3D models and drawings for metal fabrication projects, collaborating with production and clients, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

Develop 3D models and manufacturing drawings with tolerances and detailed notes in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (sheet metal and welded parts)
Create and release work orders, material lists, and sheet metal cut lists
Collect and update product data in the plant and in the field as needed
Quote materials and assist in preparing customer-based estimates
Monitor manufacturing to ensure quality, technical specifications, and on-time delivery
Coordinate with production, suppliers, sales, and customer service to ensure accurate information flow
Participate in process optimization and cost reduction whenever possible

Required

Authorization to work in the United States (valid work permit or status required)
Bilingual English/Spanish
Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or related field (or postgraduate degree)
Minimum 1 year of experience in the metal-mechanical industry
Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (sheet metal & weldments)
Knowledge of technical drawing standards
Understanding of engineering materials, blueprint reading, metal profiles, and fasteners
Experience with measuring instruments such as tape measure and caliper

Preferred

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks and CNC machining
Certifications: CSWA, CSWP (weldments, sheet metal)
