Business Development Officer (SBA Broker)

They are seeking a Business Development Officer to source, pre-qualify, and broker SBA loans for multiple clients, managing 12-20 active loans while conducting numerous conversations with prospective buyers each week.

Responsibilities
Work inbound leads generated by GoSBA Loans’ internal marketing and referral channels
Generate additional leads by reaching out to potential buyers through online communities, forums, cold emails, phone calls, and LinkedIn messages
Speak with prospective buyers to understand the acquisition target, purchase price, capital needs, and ownership structure
Collect borrower and target business documents (financials, tax returns, resumes, bank statements, etc.)
Review financial statements and cash flow to determine whether a deal is SBA-fundable
Perform initial DSCR analysis and basic Excel-based financial review
Provide early guidance to buyers on deal viability, risks, and structure
Prepare a clear, one-page loan summary outlining the borrower, business, structure, and cash flow narrative
Decide which lenders the deal should be submitted to based on credit profile and lender appetite
Submit deals to lenders, answer follow-up questions, and support underwriting through approval and closing
Track all activity, documents, lender feedback, and follow-ups in the CRM
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or other related field
Minimum 2 years SBA 7(a) business development or loan brokerage experience
Very good sales skills and ability to run sales playbooks
Proven sales track record with ability to source and close deals independently
Strong understanding of business acquisitions and SBA 7(a) loan processes
Ability to execute complete package submissions to multiple lenders
Proficiency with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for creating professional loan summaries and documentation
Exceptional email communication skills - must be able to write clear, professional, and persuasive emails
Strong video conferencing presence and skills for remote client meetings and lender negotiations
Ability to protect and maintain confidential information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Superior organizational skills to manage multiple client deals simultaneously
Self-motivated and looking to aggressively build your book of business
Proficiency with CRM systems and related software
