Relationship Manager - Private Wealth
CIBC is building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world and is seeking a Relationship Manager within its Private Wealth organization. This role involves supporting a book of high-net-worth clients, focusing on retaining and deepening client relationships while contributing to business growth through networking and exceptional service delivery.

Responsibilities
Manage client relationships: Support the management of a shared portfolio of high-net-worth clients alongside a Senior Relationship Manager, ensuring strong retention and ongoing business growth while aligning with investment objectives and firm policies
Expand the team’s portfolio: Contribute to acquiring new clients with complex financial needs through strategic business development activities and close collaboration with Business Development Officers and your team
Drive profitability: Support the achievement of revenue goals, assist in managing expenses, and monitor overall profit performance, taking timely action as part of the team when needed
Deliver exceptional service: Help foster a high-touch service culture by leveraging your expertise in investment and wealth advisory services to deliver tailored client solutions in collaboration with the team
Engage in client events: Participate in client events to deepen relationships and support new business development efforts as part of a coordinated team approach
Collaborate effectively: Partner across internal teams to provide a seamless, professional, and timely client experience, working closely with colleagues and leaders
Ensure compliance: Support the implementation and maintenance of strong operational and compliance risk controls across all activities, in line with team and organizational standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
6-8 years of experience in portfolio management, wealth management, personal tax, or financial planning
Strong understanding of investment products and strategies designed for sophisticated, high-net-worth clients
Experience working Trust accounts and familiarity with estate planning
Skilled in financial analysis and can offer expert advice on complex, high-value relationships
Excel at cultivating lasting client relationships and delivering tailored recommendations that inspire trust and action
Comfortable presenting to both small groups and large audiences, with excellent written skills for crafting professional proposals and presentations
Use advanced negotiation and influencing skills to identify and pursue new business opportunities
Act with professionalism and sound judgment, always keeping the client's success in focus
Maintain a strong understanding of operational, regulatory, and compliance-related requirements
A proven track record of managing high-net-worth client relationships
Expertise in investment and wealth advisory services
A collaborative mindset to deliver seamless client service
Strong financial acumen and relationship management skills to develop and execute customized client solutions
