Responsibilities

Collaborate with a talented team to design and develop the future of cloud-based developer environments using TypeScript, React, and a modern tech stack. Your work will shape the tools that thousands of developers rely on every day to write, test, and ship code faster
Leverage tools like Vite, Jest, and Storybook to develop and showcase UI components in isolation. You'll play a key role in building scalable, performant, and accessible user interfaces
Use MUI/Material-UI and Figma to translate product and design requirements into elegant, user-centric interfaces that balance aesthetics and functionality. Your attention to detail will help ensure every interaction feels smooth and intentional
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through code reviews, design discussions, and close collaboration across engineering, product, and design teams. Expect to move fast, learn constantly, and ship impactful features
Be responsible for the overall architecture and tooling around Coder’s frontend

Required

Located in the United States or Canada
You've worked professionally as a Software Engineer for at 8+ years
You're highly competent in Typescript and React
You have knowledge and understanding of back-end architecture
Your code is well-structured, performant, well-tested, and documented
You help make those around you better through code review, design review, sharing your knowledge, and more

Preferred

Deep experience with one or more of the major clouds
Worked on enterprise applications, developer tools, or on-premises software
Experience connecting directly with customers
You have knowledge and understanding of Go
Experience with infrastructure technologies like Kubernetes, Nomad, or Docker
Experience with Linux
Experience with WireGuard and/or Tailscale
Degree in Computer Science or other applicable field
A Web-based portfolio or resume
