Wire Harness Technician
ARi is a rapidly expanding global engineering enterprise headquartered in East Peoria, IL. They are seeking a Wire Harness Technician responsible for harness fabrication, building custom wiring harnesses, and performing various assembly and documentation tasks related to harnesses and panels.

Responsibilities
Harness fabrication & rework
Build custom wiring harnesses from drawings, schematics, and pinout tables (breakouts, trunk/branch looms, shielded/twisted pairs, coax/RF as applicable)
Perform precision crimping, soldering, splicing (e.g., butt splice, solder sleeves), heat shrink/boot application, braiding/looming/lacing, strain relief, and cable management
Apply labels, heat shrink markers, and color codes; maintain consistent routing and bend radius practices
Execute continuity, insulation resistance, and (where specified) hipot tests; log and resolve defects
Load plate/build panel assembly
Assemble load plates / I/O plates / patch panels to interface ECUs/UUTs with HIL benches (e.g., resistor networks, relays, fusing, terminal blocks, fault insertion interfaces, protection/conditioning circuits)
Mount and wire DIN rail components, power distribution, and grounding; verify loads, ratings, and derating; ensure panel labeling and documentation
Modify existing harnesses and panels per ECOs/redlines, update pin maps and drawings, and verify changes on bench
Support benches bring up, signal checkout, and debug with engineers (CAN/LIN/Ethernet/analog/digital I/O, power rails, grounds, shielding)
Maintain HIL bench uptime: tidy cable routing, quick turn rework, connector repairs, spare parts inventory
Read/interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, connector datasheets, and harness drawings; generate/update BOMs, pin maps, and as built records
Follow IPC/WHMA A 620 workmanship and ESD practices; adhere to 5S and lab safety procedures
Track work via tickets/ECOs; record test results and traceability (part/lot numbers, crimp tool calibration, torque values)
Manage consumables and components (wire gauges/types, terminals, contacts, housings, back shells, heat shrink, fuses)
Qualification
Required
Associates degree with at least 5+ years of experience or Bachelor's with 2+ years of experience
775NG L8 HIL bench Application Harness and Load Plate building
796 L8 HIL Application harness building and load plate building
All L8 HIL benches Harness cleaning in a presentable manner
Good understanding of print reading and experience in constructing the wiring harness both prototype and production harnesses
Experience in reading the wires & spools table, bundle tables, splice tables, connector tables etc. from the drawings/prints
Good experience in using the machines to measure, cut, crimp and pull test
