Administrative Assistant 1 - Department of Ophthalmology

The Administrative Assistant will manage student rotations within the Department of Ophthalmology and provide administrative support to faculty, ensuring efficient operations within the department.

Responsibilities

Manage the department's student intern rotations including coordinating rotations, posting grades, and completing other duties required as part of the program
Coordinate travel and prepare travel expense statements for assigned faculty
Assist faculty by maintaining calendars by completing various tasks including but not limited to scheduling meetings and appointments, submitting leave requests, etc
Serve as receptionist for the MCG-Ophthalmology administrative suite by greeting guests, answering phones, monitoring fax machines for incoming documents, etc
Complete other duties assigned as necessary including but not limited to making copies for meetings, updating office signs, etc
Provide administrative support for assigned faculty (no more than five and no less than two) which will include various duties including but not limited to coordinating travel, maintaining calendars, etc

Required

Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions
High school diploma/GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
