Augusta University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Biostatistics and Data Science within the School of Public Health. The role involves conducting methodological research, collaborating with other investigators, teaching graduate courses, and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

Conduct methodological research in Biostatistics and Data Science

Engage in collaborative research with other investigators in biomedical, public health, and translational research within and outside of AU

Publish methodological work in excellent peer reviewed journals of the field

Disseminate collaborative work by publishing collaborative manuscripts in relevant peer reviewed journals

Pursue extramural funding opportunities

Provide services to the department and the institution

Teach courses offered in the department's various graduate programs

Mentor graduate students in these programs

Qualification

Ph.D. in BiostatisticsMethodological researchTeaching graduate coursesCollaboration in researchOral communication skillsWritten communication skillsEvidence of teaching abilityScholarly activityPersonal qualities

Required

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Statistics or a closely related field by the time the appointment starts

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member

Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience

Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience

Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation

Evidence of ability as a teacher

Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned

Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements)

Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
