Responsibilities

Execute hardware design tasks independently with limited supervision
Design and document electrical control panels and systems in compliance with UL508A, NFPA 79, and related codes
Select, size, and specify electrical components to meet project and customer requirements, as well as complying with UL508A requirements
Develop electrical schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation in EPLAN
Collaborate with manufacturing and design teams to ensure accurate panel build, seamless system integration, and compliance with quality standards
Troubleshoot and resolve design, wiring, and operational issues both in-house and on-site
Support commissioning activities and provide technical assistance or training to site personnel as required
Recommend improvements to design workflows, tools, and standards to enhance efficiency and reduce field issues
Inspect and review electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or non-conformance

Required

Proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 and/or AutoCAD Electrical for electrical design and drafting
Strong understanding of UL508A standards and their practical application
Knowledge of NFPA 79 and NFPA 70 (NEC)
Experience in hardware selection, control panel layout, and wiring for industrial systems
Hands-on experience with electrical equipment installation, testing, and maintenance
Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and control panels
Ability to manage multiple projects effectively with strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and customer interaction
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) for documentation and communication
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience
2-4 years of experience in electrical control design, with an emphasis on EPLAN and UL508A
Must live in one of the following states to be considered: AR, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NE, NH, NJ, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, UT, VA, VT, WI

Preferred

Familiarity with NFPA 70E, Functional Safety, and related safety codes
Knowledge of industrial automation components such as PLCs, VFDs, relays, and sensors (limited to hardware integration)
Basic knowledge of fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Devicenet)
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment
Knowledge of industrial automation components and integration
Experience in control panel assembly and testing
