Responsibilities

Act as the primary point of contact for onsite clients, proactively managing their expectations and building strong, lasting relationships through regular communication and progress updates
Address and resolve any client concerns or issues on-site in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction
Serve as the central hub for all project stakeholders (including clients, internal teams, and subcontractors), ensuring seamless information flow and alignment on project goals, scope, and deliverables
Implement and manage a robust quality control and assurance program on all field projects, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure work meets or exceeds company and industry standards
Identify and document all non-conformance issues or defects, leading root-cause analysis and coordinating corrective actions with the relevant teams to prevent recurrence
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety in field operations
Maintain records of all quality assurance activities, including inspection reports and corrective action plans
Lead the mobilisation of field teams for new projects, which includes the involvement in the recruitment, and comprehensive onboarding of new team members to ensure they are fully prepared and aligned with project objectives
Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to field staff, fostering a culture of professional growth, accountability, and safety
By working with the Project Lead to accurately forecast and plan for staffing needs, ensuring the right talent is in place at the right time to meet project demands
Validate technical output from field teams, including, asset inventory, installation, commissioning, migration and decommissioning/site clearance activities
Take ownership of the end-to-end subcontractor management process, from sourcing and pre-qualification to selection and contracting
Develop and execute a standardised onboarding program for all new subcontractors, ensuring they are fully vetted, legally compliant, and trained on company safety protocols and quality expectations before commencing work
Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance against agreed-upon SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and quality standards, addressing any performance issues and fostering collaborative working relationships
Ensure all subcontractor documentation, including contracts, insurance, and certifications, is complete and compliant with all legal and company requirements
The Field Manager will be responsible for reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior staff on a regular basis, including metrics on project completion, quality control, team productivity, and customer satisfaction
Ensure project milestones, timelines, and deliverables are achieved in line with agreed schedules with the Project Management Team
Lead day-to-day execution of data centre exit activities across multiple sites
Coordinate with logistics teams for the secure removal, transport, or disposal of equipment
Travel as required to sites to provide coaching and performance oversight

Required

Proven experience managing field-based teams within data centre, telecommunication or critical infrastructure projects
Understands best practices in installation
Knowledge of OSP, DWDM, SONET and IP Infrastructure
Strong project execution and timeline management skills
Excellent leadership and people management capabilities
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage directly with customers, subcontractors or Landlords on-site
Detail-oriented with the ability to validate technical deliverables
Knowledge of health & safety requirements and site compliance in a data centre or telecommunication environments
Must have good Microsoft Office experience including advanced excel skills and able to manipulate large datasets

Preferred

Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification
