Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA. The Electronics Hardware Design Engineer will design, develop, test, and oversee the manufacturing of electrical printed circuit boards, analog and digital circuits, and various electronic systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Translates project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross functional teams
Innovatively solves issues, drives completion of the project to schedule, and collaboratively works with other technical contributors
Builds, debugs, and tests prototypes and deliverable hardware
Prepares documentation for manufacturing and provides continuous support
Researches and enables innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs
Engages other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective end solutions for products
Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Independently executes assignments under the oversight of program leadership
Contributes content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance
Identifies challenges associated with assigned work and communicates them to project leadership

Required

Bachelor's degree in electronic or electrical engineering or related field
0-3 years experience in electronic or electrical engineering or related field
Strong foundation in electronic design
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
Understanding of engineering theories and procedures
Eager to learn new technical skills and expand their depth/technical knowledge
Applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
