Responsibilities
Creating and reviewing necessary calculations, designs, and analyses to secure permits and address environmental concerns
Evaluating the environmental impacts of both proposed and existing transportation facilities, considering aspects such as landforms, water quality, land use, cultural resources, and the effects on threatened and endangered species
Conducting environmental analyses and preparing technical reports on hazardous waste, wetland investigations, and species assessments
Reviewing studies related to natural resources and pollution control as part of the environmental clearance process
Researching the potential impacts of transportation projects on various environmental and community factors
Conducting fieldwork including wetland identification, species surveys, waste investigations, and monitoring post-construction activities
Providing support to construction and maintenance teams in resolving issues
Qualification
Required
Five years of progressive professional experience in local, regional, or state environmental planning; or
Two years of experience as an Environmental Planner 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
A Master's degree in planning or one of the environmental sciences and two years of progressive professional environmental planning experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
You must meet the PA residency requirement
