The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a reliable Maintenance Repairman 2 for the South Mountain Restoration Center. This role involves performing skilled work in various trades, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, to maintain and repair the facility's equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Perform journey level skilled work in the electrical shop completing projects, as well as tasks in several other trades including plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, and refrigeration

Install, maintain, operate and make minor or major repairs to various machine shop equipment

Repair doors, door frames, flooring, and furniture

Exercise technical independence when determining the most effective work methods for each task and demonstrated knowledge of the tools, materials, and safety precautions of various trades

Operate trucks, stretcher transport vehicles, mini-vans, and wheelchair equipped vans to support institutional transportation requirements and resident trips

Required

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities

You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License

You must meet the PA residency requirement

You must be able to perform essential job functions

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
