Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Director of Academic Personnel for UC Riverside's Administrative Services and Strategic Executive Team. The Director serves as the principal advisor on academic personnel matters, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for various academic personnel functions within the supported units.

Responsibilities

Serve as the principal advisor and subject matter expert on all academic personnel matters

Provide strategic leadership, policy interpretation, and operational oversight for a broad range of academic personnel functions

Support all academic personnel operations for the Division of Undergraduate Education

Ensure policy compliance, consistency, and timely execution of academic HR actions

Lead academic personnel planning and service delivery, including recruitment, onboarding, staffing, compensation, academic reviews, and ASE appointments

Contribute to the development and implementation of internal guidelines, deliver training, and drive process improvement initiatives

Provide support for staff HR actions as needed

Align academic personnel practices with DUE’s teaching and learning mission

Required

Expert-level knowledge of academic policies, compensation structures, collective bargaining agreements, and academic recruitment processes

Experience in academic personnel operations for faculty and academic administrators

Ability to provide strategic leadership, policy interpretation, and operational oversight

Experience in recruitment, onboarding, staffing, compensation, academic reviews, and ASE appointments

Strong collaboration skills to work with ASSET HR and DUE leadership

Current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position

Compliance with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements

Preferred
