Inside Higher Ed is seeking an International Student Advisor to provide immigration advising and support services for international students. The role includes serving as a Designated School Official and designing professional intercultural programs to ensure the success of international students.

Responsibilities

Provides immigration advising and support services to promote the success, wellness, and academic goals of international students, dependents, and graduated students pursuing Optional Practical Training (OPT) and Academic Training

Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), independently providing expert immigration and regulatory advising to international students

Can serve as lead Career Empowerment Coordinator or as lead Coordinator for SEVIS registration

Actively advises faculty and staff across campus by providing in-depth guidance on matters relevant to international students

In collaboration with the ISS team, designs and delivers professional intercultural and support programs that facilitate the educational, professional, and personal success of international students at UCR

Contributes to outreach and campus training that provides faculty, staff, and students with the resources and skills needed to effectively contribute to an increasingly international campus

Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position
