This role involves hands-on experience with municipal infrastructure projects, including construction administration and data collection using mobile ArcGIS technology.

Responsibilities
Performs construction administration, oversight, and staking of municipal infrastructure such as streets, sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer
Uses mobile ArcGIS data collection technology to assess conditions of public infrastructure such as stormwater management facilities, greenbelts, and outfalls
Assists with traffic counts, bike/pedestrian counts, field data collection, traffic safety studies, and road condition ratings
Interacts and collaborates with technicians, engineers, project managers, contractors, and the public regarding project related issues
Assists with CADD drafting, GIS data entry, scanning documents, and other office related tasks
Other duties as assigned or required
Qualification
Required
Have completed a minimum of two semesters of college prior to starting the position
Be pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering, civil engineering technology, land surveying, construction technology, geography, or related field from a college or university
Valid state-issued driver's license is required
General understanding of construction practices
Communicating with project team members, math, and computer applications
Skilled in Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent organizational, analytical, judgement, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to learn how to use mobile ArcGIS data collection technology, CADD software, and survey equipment
Ability to interact/respond to citizen inquiries or guide them to the appropriate service
Ability to operate City vehicles and equipment in a safe manner
Ability to maintain valid driver's license and drive a vehicle
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City Department, Division, and Office heads, City employees, consultants, developers, architects, engineers, realtors, surveyors, community interest groups, other governmental agencies, and the general public
