Audio Visual Sales Engineer

They are seeking a highly collaborative and experienced Audio Visual Sales Engineer to design and deliver innovative AV solutions while ensuring client satisfaction through close collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients to understand their AV needs, assess requirements, and design custom solutions tailored to their objectives
Work closely with the Engineering and Design teams to create accurate, innovative, and cost-effective AV solutions
Support Sales and Solutions leaders by developing detailed proposals, quotes
Perform site surveys as required
Prepare detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for AV projects, ensuring that all components are accurately specified
Develop and maintain pricing models, ensuring competitive and transparent pricing structures for clients
Perform bid/spec take off’s on certain opportunities
Engage with external vendors and partners to source equipment, services, and negotiate favorable terms
Maintain a strong understanding of product pricing, market trends, and supply chain logistics
Serve as a liaison between the Sales team, Engineering and Design teams, and Delivery team to ensure the seamless handoff from sales team to delivery and overall execution of projects
Partner with the Delivery team to ensure systems are implemented efficiently and according to the specifications and BOM
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide input on product offerings, technical strategy, and customer needs
Stay up to date on the latest AV technologies, industry trends, and competitive products
Provide pre-sales technical support, including system configuration, equipment recommendations, and system demonstrations
Work with the engineering team to ensure that all solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with the client’s expectations
Act as a technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction
Provide post-sales support & guidance as required
Support the planning and implementation of projects by coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure all project deliverables are met
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AV sales, design, or engineering
Strong knowledge of AV systems, including video conferencing, digital signage display systems, sound systems, control systems, and networking
Proven experience with pricing strategies, BOM creation, and vendor/partner management
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Technical proficiency in AV system design, integration, and pricing
Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
Excellent organizational skills
Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills
Willingness to travel within the DC/Baltimore area
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred
Familiarity with AV industry standards such as AVIXA (InfoComm) and certifications (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I) are a plus
Experience working with design software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, etc.) is a plus
