Founding Perception Engineer

Responsibilities
Architect and develop robust 3D perception pipelines for teleoperated and semi-autonomous heavy machinery
Design baseline perception algorithms and progressively enhance them with advanced deep-learning models
Build real-time object detection, classification, and tracking systems to improve operator situational awareness
Calibrate and fuse multi-modal sensor data (LiDAR, cameras, radar, GNSS/IMU) ensuring spatial and temporal consistency under dynamic conditions
Optimize perception algorithms for real-time execution on embedded compute platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson Orin), with a focus on low latency, stability, and handling of edge cases
Qualification
Required
2 to 10 years of perception engineering experience working with autonomous vehicles, preferably in industrial settings such as construction, mining, or agriculture
Experience as a founding engineer or founder in an early-stage startup, side project, or similar 0 to 1 building environment
Demonstrated elite skill or exceptional project track record in robotics, perception, or autonomy
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a top-ranked program, with a strong academic record
Hands-on experience with building and optimizing perception pipelines on embedded GPUs using ROS2 or similar frameworks
Proficient coding skills in C++ and Python (or equivalent), with a focus on autonomy/perception for industrial platforms
Field-first mindset, comfortable spending approximately 50% of time on construction sites and adapting to challenging environments
Deep passion for robotics, autonomy, and building impactful technology in real-world settings
