Responsibilities

Lead all administrative operations, managing a multidisciplinary team to support clinical trials, registries, and translational research activities
Oversee hiring, supervision, and mentoring of administrative and research staff to foster a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and professional growth
Ensure adherence to IRB, FDA, GCP, and institutional standards, maintaining full regulatory and ethical compliance
Serve as the primary liaison between the Center, the Department, and institutional leadership, facilitating efficient coordination across regulatory, financial, and scientific domains
Provide strategic and operational leadership to optimize workflows, improve service delivery, and align resources with organizational goals
Oversee budget creation, fiscal accountability, and resource allocation across all Center operations, ensuring financial sustainability and transparency
Develop, implement, and continually refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance
Drive cross-departmental collaboration and integration to enhance research delivery, scalability, and impact
Lead the Center’s business development initiatives, including identification of funding sources, grant opportunities, and industry collaborations
Manage the full proposal lifecycle, including feasibility assessments, budgets, RFP responses, bid defenses, and submissions
Build and sustain strategic relationships with sponsors, foundations, government agencies, and philanthropic entities to support long-term growth
Partner with investigators and leadership to develop innovative research proposals and funding strategies aligned with the Center’s mission
Collaborate with faculty and scientific leadership to identify emerging research opportunities and partnerships
Support investigators in preparing high-quality submissions—budgets, biosketches, letters of support, compliance documentation, and justifications
Enhance visibility and academic reputation of the Center through symposia, internal communications, and external collaborations
Lead or co-develop institutional initiatives to expand the Center’s national and global footprint in cardiovascular research
Leverage advanced data analytics, digital platforms, and AI-driven tools to streamline operations, automate administrative tasks, and improve research insight generation
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies for clinical trial management, patient recruitment, and data quality monitoring
Champion the use of predictive analytics, machine learning, and decision-support systems to optimize research performance and forecasting
Foster a culture of innovation, supporting training and adoption of advanced digital tools among administrative and research staff
Represent the Center on institutional committees, working groups, and strategic planning initiatives
Actively participate in professional societies and external collaborations to promote Mount Sinai’s leadership in cardiovascular innovation
Stay abreast of evolving trends in clinical research, digital transformation, and health technology to inform strategic priorities

Required

Bachelors Degree required
High level experience (similar position at established ARO/CRO)
Background in public health, business administration, clinical research management, or related disciplines
5 years of experience in health care finance or administration
Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Demonstrated success in leading business development, proposal management, and multidisciplinary teams in a research or healthcare setting

Preferred

Masters degree preferred
PhD, MBA, MPH (strongly preferred)
Minimum 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations, research administration, or academic medicine preferred
Familiarity with cardiovascular or clinical research strongly preferred
