They are seeking a Packaging Design Engineer with a strong background in packaging design and product handling to join their engineering team, responsible for designing new solutions and modifying existing products to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

Research and analyze customer proposals and specifications to determine the cost and feasibility of new projects
Design new solutions and modify existing products to meet customers’ needs
Work independently to solve complex design issues
Work with internal tooling and outside vendors to complete projects in a timely manner
Prototype and test new products
Perform initial and ongoing design reviews
Partner with sales and project managers to support customer issues and translate feedback into engineering design requirements
Help identify process deficiencies and develop solutions for improvement
Involved in market research and implementation of new process advancements

Qualification

SolidWorksArtiosCADPackaging designMaterials knowledgeProblem solvingCommunication skills

Required

Proficient use of SolidWorks and/or ArtiosCAD
2-5 years of experience in packaging, product handling, or related engineering roles
Strong understanding of materials (corrugate, plastics, foams, etc.) and manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Experience with packaging testing standards
Experience and knowledge in machining and manufacturing operations
Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments
