Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support a team of 4–5 application developers
Act as a technical project manager, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and business requirements
Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and promote high engineering standards
Partner with Product, Data, and other stakeholders to refine requirements and prioritize work
Manage sprint planning, workload distribution, and delivery execution
Support hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, and professional development of team members
Contribute directly to application development across the full stack
Design, build, and maintain backend services using Python and SQL
Develop and maintain frontend applications using React or a modern JavaScript framework
Collaborate on system architecture, technical design decisions, and platform scalability
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide the team through solutions
Ensure applications meet healthcare data security, privacy, and compliance expectations
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional software development experience
2+ years of experience leading or supervising developers, tech leads, or small engineering teams
Strong hands-on experience with Python (backend development)
Strong hands-on experience with SQL (data modeling, querying, performance tuning)
Strong hands-on experience with React or another modern JavaScript framework
Experience building and maintaining full-stack applications in production environments
Prior experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments
Ability to balance people management, project oversight, and hands-on technical work
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to deliver in fast-paced, evolving environments
Preferred
Startup or high-growth company experience
Experience working closely with Product Management teams
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, or service-oriented architectures
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
Background in data-driven or analytics-focused applications
