Senior Environmental Project Manager (Industrial Hygiene)
ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join their Industrial Hygiene team. This role involves managing environmental and industrial hygiene projects, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining client relationships while ensuring high-quality work.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage environmental and industrial hygiene projects from proposal through final invoice
Serve as the primary client contact and ensure overall project success
Manage assessments related to asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, indoor air quality, radon, dust, legionella, and drinking water
Support air quality analysis and Environmental Impact Statement Framework (EISF) work for the District of Columbia Department of Energy & Environment
Oversee project budgets, schedules, change orders, invoicing, and collection efforts
Review and prepare proposals, technical reports, and deliverables prior to Principal review
Perform senior or peer review of reports and provide technical guidance
Mentor and train junior staff, including field personnel and subcontractors
Attend client meetings, lead report discussions, and provide clear recommendations
Coordinate staffing and resources across multiple projects simultaneously
Conduct site visits as needed to ensure quality, safety, and progress
Support business development efforts and help grow client relationships
Qualification
Required
Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, or other related environmental degree applicable to Environmental Consulting such as Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related Engineering field
7+ years of industrial hygiene experience
Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
Experience managing multiple projects, budgets, and teams at the same time
Comfortable mentoring staff and leading both technical and client conversations
Preferred
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is desired, but not required
Experience with DOEE air quality and EISF processes is a plus
