Project Architect - Mission Critical Facilities

Gensler is expanding its mission critical facilities services and is looking for a technically proficient architect to join their Baltimore office. The role involves producing technical documentation, coordinating project teams, and delivering functional spaces within various practice areas including Critical Facilities and Government. Responsibilities

Design and deliver functional and beautiful spaces within the Critical Facilities, Government and Defense, Sciences, and Industrial Practice Areas
Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation
Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction
Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
Utilize 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts

Required

Bachelor's degree in Architecture
6-10+ years of experience within the commercial architecture and design field, with recent focus on project delivery, Data Center, Command Centers, and Secured Spaces experience is a plus
Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques is preferred
Experience in construction document preparation and field observation is preferred
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software
Successful completion of project types such as laboratories, data centers, command centers, high-tech factories, and/or federal, state, and local government facility spaces
Registered/Licensed Architect (RA) in the U.S., NCARB
Commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices

Preferred
