AUDITOR I AND II - HAWAII ISLAND - (OHHI)

The State of Hawaiʻi is seeking candidates for the Auditor I and II positions within the Department of Taxation in Hilo. The roles entail professional auditing work, including examining accounts to provide opinions on financial positions and operations of various entities, with Level I focusing on training and assisting in auditing activities, while Level II handles more complex assignments.

Responsibilities

Professional auditing work covered by examining of accounts for the purpose of rendering an opinion regarding the financial position and operations of the governmental agencies, individuals and business entities being examined
Level I position receives training and assists in a trainee capacity in activities pertaining to professional auditing; and performs other duties as required
Level II position is an advanced trainee, performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult which do not require the services of a fully trained auditor; and performs other duties as required

Required

Legal Authorization To Work
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university with at least twelve (12) semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects
For Level II, one (1) year of progressively responsible professional auditing experience requiring the knowledge and application of generally accepted professional accounting and auditing principles, standards, theory and practices for the purpose of analyzing and interpreting accounting books, records, or systems
Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
