Officer, Resource Development - Major Gifts
International Medical Corps is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to support fundraising and administrative activities within the Major Gifts team. The role involves collaborating with portfolio managers, managing donor relationships, and assisting in fundraising events to meet yearly goals.

Responsibilities
Support the Major Gifts team portfolio managers in developing and implementing thoughtful, strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for prospective leadership and major donors
Research new donors at the mid and major gifts level, providing briefings and reports to assist portfolio managers in designing and executing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
Prepare reports and briefings for external prospect and donor and internal strategy meetings
Act as the team lead on ensuring comprehensive knowledge management processes and procedures are in place to support effective fundraising, including database use, tracking of key team metrics, and compliance with other team protocols e.g. Development Operations, Finance, etc
Work with Development Operations to prepare regular financial reports from the database and other sources, enabling robust analysis of the team’s progress toward goals
Assist with Philanthropy events, participating in event planning, logistics and delivery
Lead personalized acknowledgment for all incoming gifts of $500 or more for unassigned donors and ensure further personalized communications are relayed to those individuals throughout the year as needed
Work to ensure fundraising goals are met by supporting outreach and solicitation efforts; seek ways to increase attendance and funds raised with all RD events
Act as point person across departments within the organization, including Finance, Logistics and HR, to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Lead research and outreach for a mid to major donor portfolio, effecting cultivation/stewardship efforts to maximize donor engagement and yearly fundraising goals
Be an active development team member responsible for specific revenue goals and a specific level of oversight and activity

Qualification
Required
Typically, a Bachelor's degree in a related area. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
3+ years of relevant experience working in a related field, including at least 3 years of event management or public relations experience or equivalent
Demonstrated success in event execution
Superior written and oral communication skills and a keen eye for detail
Ability to maintain confidential information
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and its associated applications
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Experience in event production, staff management, public relations, and/or private donor services required
Ability to take initiative and work independently and with diverse HQ and international staff on complex assignments
Flexibility to assume a workload that frequently necessitates an adjustment of priorities
Exceptional proofreading skills
Experience with donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation
Some success with fundraising from individuals and/or corporations
Knowledge of and connection to the Los Angeles fundraising community
