Responsibilities

Responsible for review and definition of the operation and maintenance requirements of assigned systems to ensure a high level of reliability and availability
Monitors operation and performance of systems through trends and information provided through support organizations
Performs station equipment inspections, identifying near and long-term reliability and efficiency concerns with follow-up engineering/technical recommendations targeting risk minimization
Actively engaged in preparing both short- and long-term budget proposals, with a focus on prioritizing station risks and ensuring reliability throughout the project initiation, development, and justification phases
Initiates, develops, and implements station managed projects related to assigned systems
Collaborates with company subject matter experts, station operations, and maintenance personnel for equipment of responsibility
Provides subject matter technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in area of expertise
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches related to well-defined problems and analysis of moderate scope and complexity
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
Strives to continually improve job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities across various groups
Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Provides coaching and mentorship to fellow Engineers and Engineering Technologists

Required

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
Minimum of 4 years of related experience for Engineer III
Minimum of 6 years of related experience for Senior Engineer
A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree

Preferred

Demonstrated understanding of electrical distribution systems, coordination of electrical protective systems, protective relay operations, and automatic voltage regulators
Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical and relay system issues
Good understanding of NERC regulatory compliance requirements for battery and protection systems
Experience in the utility industry
Proficient in engineering theories and principles
Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
Demonstrates skills applying leadership in the areas of technical project management, program oversight and/or governance
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
