Responsibilities

Lead in developing and documenting moderately complex processes related to cost and international accounting and analysis
Oversee the Company’s semi-complex inter-company transactions between Corporate and foreign subsidiaries to ensure all financial records are posted in accordance with US GAAP and corporate requirements. This includes account analyses and reconciliation and discrepancy resolution
Drive communication between the Company’s international offices and Corporate to ensure adherence to corporate policies, as well as provide guidance and assistance in resolving region-specific issues
Perform procedures to ensure inventory purchase transactions from foreign subsidiaries to contract assembly suppliers are executed consistently, as mandated by corporate policy
Support and provide guidance to foreign subsidiaries on questions related to transfer pricing and general accounting procedures as they relate to cost of goods sold
Responsible for calculation of gain/loss related to foreign currency translation related to balance sheet accounts
Inventory account reconciliations and roll-forwards including transfer price guidelines and audit procedures, and assurance of proper inventory valuation of foreign subsidiaries and global standard cost
In preparation of completing financial statements, perform semi-complex month-end procedures that include various account reconciliations, variance analyses, inter-company billing corrections, analysis of in transit shipments from parent; and rules-based allocation of manufacturing expenses
Maintain and validate standard costs in ERP system, to include review of BOM’s, routings and work centers
Validate budget data for reasonableness
Develop monthly financial reports for higher level review
Review actual expenses of supported operational groups to identify errors
Voucher general journal entries and accruals
Provide monthly reporting and analysis Provide necessary documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Participate in quarterly and annual audits and tax requirements
Actively seek new tools and ideas to help management better understand and plan our business
Support current management reporting system
Support financial reporting requirements for both internal and external customers
Present financial/operational results to management
Improve inventory reporting to support company initiatives
Ad hoc reporting, as required

Required

BS in Accounting, Finance or Business, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5 – 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with heavy emphasis in international, intercompany and plant accounting, analysis and reporting
Intermediate knowledge of US GAAP, including strong understanding of consolidated financial statements
Intermediate understanding of how subsidiaries are consolidated in financial reporting, to include principles of currency translation
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
Thorough attention to detail with ability to detect semi-complex inconsistencies
Ability to apply moderately complex accounting rules, as they apply to inventory and cost of sales
Intermediate to advanced understanding of transactional flow within a production operation
Advanced knowledge of Excel
Intermediate knowledge of Word
Introductory knowledge of PowerPoint
Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system to support above duties
Must be a self-starter
Strong oral and written communication
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Knowledge of SAP

Preferred

Previous cost accounting or finance experience in a mid-size or large international manufacturer/distributor
Experience in a multi-plant, multi-currency environment
SAP experience
