Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end manufacturing process development, including CNC programming, CMM programming, and advanced tool/fixture design
Lead initiatives in setup reduction, process standardization, visual work instructions, and productivity improvement
Drive Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, and other Lean transformation activities aligned with Crane’s operational strategy
Develop and manage departmental operating budgets
Prepare business cases for capital equipment investments, supporting growth and modern manufacturing capabilities
Lead teams across the Model Shop, Tool Room, and Tool Crib, ensuring alignment with Crane’s policies and bargaining agreements
Build a high-performing engineering culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Strong track record in high-precision manufacturing process development
Experience in overseeing end-to-end manufacturing process development, including CNC programming, CMM programming, and advanced tool/fixture design
Experience leading initiatives in setup reduction, process standardization, visual work instructions, and productivity improvement
Experience driving Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, and other Lean transformation activities
Experience developing and managing departmental operating budgets
Experience preparing business cases for capital equipment investments
Experience leading teams across the Model Shop, Tool Room, and Tool Crib
Ability to build a high-performing engineering culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
