Responsibilities

Knowledge and experience with students eligible for special education

Coordinate activities to determine student eligibility for placement with MSSD through facilitation and collaboration with Building Leadership

Oversee and manage student and staff data for MSSD, utilizing the student information system platform

Coordinate collection, reporting, and submission of data for Core Data/MOSIS in a timely manner

Remain current on MAP-A requirements, alternative assessment best practices, problem-solving mitigations, and platform functioning/capabilities, and ensure MSSD staff are registered, trained, assisted, and supported

Provide outreach support and information to Local Education Agencies in regard to Federal and State requirements for Special Education and programming for students with low incidence disabilities and/or significant cognitive disabilities

Serve as the truancy officer for students served by MSSD

Required

A minimum of five years of work experience with students in special education, with preference given to candidates who have a background in working with individuals with significant disabilities

A minimum of five years of work experience with data entry, reporting, and communication

Bachelor's degree, in special education or a closely related field
