Responsibilities
Prepares CADD drawings for highway and bridge projects
Prepares presentation plans for public meetings and reports
Performs calculations and prepares tables for highway and bridge projects
Assists with the development of the engineer’s estimate
Assists in the gathering and compilation of site data for highway and bridge projects
Reviews plans prepared by the Design Section for compliance with CADD standards
Assists staff within the section with CADD related issues
Other assignments to address office needs
Qualification
Required
One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an Engineering Geologist, Engineering Materials Analyst, Environmental Engineering Technician 2, Junior Architect, Senior Drafting Technician (all parenthetics), Senior Engineering Technician, or Senior Engineering Technician (Soils)
Four years of drafting experience including at least one year of specialized drafting experience on civil engineering projects
A bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction technology, architecture, or architectural technology
An associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology, construction technology, architecture, or architectural technology AND two years of drafting experience including one year of specialized drafting experience on civil engineering projects
A certificate in computer-aided drafting issued by a regionally accredited college or university AND two years of drafting experience including at least one year of specialized drafting experience on civil engineering projects
Certificates from a Trade or Technical school will be accepted only if it is from an institution that is regionally accredited or recognized by the NYS Department of Education
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Your required educational credentials must have been awarded by an educational institution accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the United States (U.S.) Department of Education/Secretary of Education
Candidates selected for appointment must provide an original document to prove their citizenship and/or legal right to work in the United States
