They are seeking a Pathology Administrative Assistant to support patient care by handling administrative tasks related to pathology consultations and medical records.

Responsibilities

Correctly transcribe patient demographics and extract pertinent clinical information from requisitions procedure notes

Extract and transcribe essential information from electronic medical record and documents provided by outside institution into consultation pathology report

Coordinate all activities for inbound pathology consultations

Order entry and package materials for esoteric testing by reference laboratories and outbound consultation requests by pathologists

Review for completion histology lab reports

Reconcile records (i.e., Tumor Board case log)

Invoice research liver biopsies

Submit on-line invoices for select consult cases

Other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Two (2) years of experience in a related job - medical or laboratory background required
