Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Community Standards will and adjudicate violations of the Student Code of Conduct
Review, assignment and processing of student conduct cases, ensuring compliance with university policies and timely completion; adjudicate student conduct cases and maintain accurate records utilizing specialized software; develop and distribute reports to student conduct staff for reviewing case management data and conduct trends; respond to student, parent and other inquiries
Develop and implement ongoing Student Conduct Assessment opportunities
Develop and maintain expertise in Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Clery and Title IX compliance requirements as each relates to student conduct and ensures compliance in areas of responsibility
Establish and utilize a restorative justice model, to be utilized during the student conduct process; including continuing the partnership established with the Department of Conflict Resolution within the McCormack Graduate School of Public Policy (MGS)
Address behavioral concerns and coordinate student intervention initiatives, while promoting the high ethical and behavioral standards of the university
Review Re-Enrollment applications with Disciplinary History and determine of re-enrollment eligibility
Review Transfer College Report and Study Aboard Inquiry with Disciplinary History and report pertinent information
Create and implement a comprehensive alcohol and drug prevention program for students involved in the conduct process, including those living in and out of the halls
As necessary, manage a Care case load; referring students to on-campus and off-campus resources
Supervise student and professional staff performing tasks related to the student conduct process; train students and staff in such aspects as understanding University policies, effective questions to ask at the hearing, appropriate conduct with parents, attorneys, and other parties
Oversee Maxient implementation across institution (Athletics, U-Access, Undergraduate Studies, CRTIX, and Office of Research and Sponsored Programs).On-Board and train new and existing staff on Maxient utilization within their respective areas
Serve on related University and Student Affairs and Campus Life committees
Support and participate in university initiatives such as New Students Orientation, student organization events, and other programs related to student success and the overall student experience
Collaborate with campus partners and create and implement assessment and planning initiatives; create and /or contribute to reports and presentations
Participate in required training programs related to position, including Clery Compliance Officers Training; remain current in related best practices and relevant trends; conduct research and benchmarking studies to determine current best practices in the field of student conduct and compliance
Assist in the development and updating of departmental policies, procedures, publications, website and other resources
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Master's Degree in student affairs related field (or J.D. and a minimum of two-three (2-3) student conduct related experience required; OR Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three (3-5) years of student conduct related experience required
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and developing inclusive communities and work teams
Experience using a web-based conduct software platform to initiate, track, and record student conduct matters
Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, excel and web-based applications
Demonstrated experience training, supervising and evaluating undergraduate student staff members
Familiarity with federal compliance related to student conduct work including FERPA, Clery and Title IX
Experience supporting student conduct processes at a college/University
Demonstrated experience adjudicating student conduct cases using an educational and consistent approach
