They are seeking a Software Developer/Cyber Security Engineer to perform advanced software development focused on Microsoft Sentinel capabilities in support of cybersecurity initiatives, specializing in SOAR automation and analytics engineering.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy Sentinel SOAR automation playbooks using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, ARM templates, and REST APIs
Create automated workflows for alert enrichment, triage, response actions, notifications, and case management
Integrate Microsoft Sentinel with third-party systems including EDR, IAM, ticketing systems, email gateways, and firewalls
Develop custom UEBA detection rules, anomaly detection models, ML-based behavior patterns, and advanced hunting queries using KQL
Build and maintain analytics content, data parsers, normalization rules, and entity behavior profiles
Evaluate behavioral anomalies and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to refine and optimize detection logic
Design and implement custom data connectors, ingestion pipelines, and data transformation logic
Create dashboards, workbooks, hunting queries, and detection-as-code artifacts
Perform platform tuning to improve performance, reduce alert noise, and align with MITRE ATT&CK and Zero Trust Architecture principles
Develop supporting code modules, scripts, microservices, and helper APIs using Python, PowerShell, .NET, C#, or similar technologies
Work with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD processes, Git-based version control, and infrastructure-as-code as applicable
Produce technical documentation including design documents, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and automation runbooks
Collaborate with DSHS, HHSC CISO Office, and cross-functional stakeholders on requirements, testing, and deployment
Provide Tier III support for Sentinel engineering issues and participate in post-incident reviews
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, computer information systems, software engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field
Two (2) years of full-time experience in software development, cloud engineering, SIEM engineering, or cybersecurity engineering
Knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel architecture, SOAR, and UEBA capabilities
Knowledge of Azure cloud services including Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Key Vault, and Azure Active Directory
Knowledge of security operations processes such as triage, threat detection, incident response, and threat modeling
Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, and Zero Trust Architecture frameworks
Knowledge of programming and scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, KQL, C#, JavaScript, or equivalent
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Git-based version control
Knowledge of API integrations and JSON/YAML data structures
Preferred
Three (3) or more years of hands-on technical experience with Microsoft Sentinel
Experience developing UEBA models, anomaly detection rules, and behavior-based analytics
Experience building Security Automation (SOAR) Playbooks
Microsoft certifications such as SC-200, AZ-900, AZ-104, SC-100, or SC-300
Experience integrating Sentinel with EDR, IAM, firewalls, and ticketing systems
Experience with DevOps pipelines (GitHub, Azure DevOps)
Experience working in a government, healthcare, or regulatory environment
