Vice President of Residential Program Services

ADAPT of the Hudson Valley is dedicated to providing high-quality, person-centered supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Vice President of Residential Program Services will lead and oversee residential program services, ensuring compliance, quality assurance, and effective staffing while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

Leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of program operations and interdisciplinary teams
Establishes and oversees programmatic goals, quality assurance systems, and performance benchmarks to drive outcomes and continuous improvement
Provides direct supervision, mentoring, and performance management to Coordinators of Operations and program leadership
Oversees the quality, safety, and effectiveness of services to ensure regulatory compliance with OPWDD, DOH, and Medicaid standards
Participates in strategic planning and supports the development of innovative services that meet the evolving needs of the people we support
Partners with Workforce Development to recruit, train, and retain highly qualified staff; ensures staff receive all required and developmental training
Manages program budgets, monitors expenditures, and collaborates with Finance on forecasting and reporting
Ensures individual service planning, documentation, and care coordination meet regulatory and internal standards
Reviews incidents, conducts risk assessments, and supports corrective action plans to promote health, safety, and well-being
Builds strong relationships with the people we support, families, and stakeholders to promote communication, satisfaction, and engagement
Ensures environments are inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the person-centered values of ADAPT
Represents the organization to external partners, funders, community organizations, and regulatory bodies as needed
Stays current on best practices, trends, policies, and innovations in the field of developmental disabilities and applies this knowledge to program improvement
Leads or participates in agency committees, special initiatives, or projects assigned by senior leadership
Collaborates with senior leadership to ensure that programs are strategically aligned with the agency’s mission, vision, and strategic plan
Leads and mentors program leadership staff, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and values-driven team culture
Champions diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging across all programs and communities served

Required

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field
Minimum 7–10 years of leadership experience in human services, disability services, or program administration
Strong working knowledge of OPWDD, DOH, and Medicaid regulations and best practices for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Demonstrated experience managing program operations across multiple sites and leading multidisciplinary teams
Proven ability to manage budgets, support compliance, and drive programmatic outcomes using data and performance metrics
Skilled in developing and implementing training initiatives, quality assurance measures, and person-centered supports
Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and email platforms
Decisive yet collaborative leadership style, with high emotional intelligence, integrity, resilience, and the ability to inspire teams in a mission-driven environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization externally with professionalism and integrity
Deep understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse communities served, with demonstrated ability to build trust and engagement across a wide range of populations
