Developer - Team Lead
Naviam is a leading IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management partner for asset intensive organizations worldwide. They are seeking a Developer - Team Lead to combine advanced hands-on development with mentoring and guiding other team members while ensuring high-quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities
Deliver advanced Maximo development including automation scripts, Java customisations, workflows, escalations, and UI configurations
Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement initiatives and actively promote their value and across the development team
Provide day-to-day (technical) guidance, mentoring, and support to developers across all levels
Lead by example through high-quality engineering, adhering to development standards, patterns, and best practices
Support the planning of development activities, assisting with task estimation, prioritisation, and refinement
Take ownership of complex features, integrations, and high-priority defect resolutions
Act as an escalation point for challenging technical issues affecting Maximo, its integrations or other group products
Collaborate with relevant parties to ensure technical solutions align with functional requirements
Own the technical quality of changes: code reviews, guidance to members of the development team enforcing standards
Develop, maintain, and optimise integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework
Support Maximo upgrades, fix packs, and environment changes from a development perspective
Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation covering customisations, integrations, and development processes
Qualification
Required
6–10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Maximo (7.6.x or MAS 8/9)
Demonstrable ability to support and guide other developers while delivering their own technical workload
Strong capability in defining development patterns, reviewing code, and ensuring alignment with established standards
Expertise in: Automation scripting, Java for Maximo customisations, MBO customisation and extension, MIF object structures, endpoints, processing rules, SQL queries, performance optimisation, and DB troubleshooting, Designing and implementing workflows and escalations
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, especially in diagnosing complex issues across Maximo, integrations, and the database
Experience mentoring developers, promoting best practices, and improving development efficiency
Good understanding of asset management, work management, and inventory processes
Experience contributing to the continual improvement of development practices and team capability
Demonstrates the ability to articulate the team's technical requirements and influence management to support key initiatives
Be able to influence and bring people on board with ways of working
Proactively support others with a positive, helpful and approachable attitude
Preferred
Strong people skills with an easy, approachable interpersonal style
Experience working within regulated or asset-intensive industries (e.g., utilities, transport, energy)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control processes
Exposure to containerised deployments (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes) from a practical, day-to-day usage perspective
Experience with BIRT or other reporting tools
Understanding of ITIL service management practices
Knowledge of EAM Mobile offerings such as Maximo Mobile, Maximo Anywhere or Fingertip
Experience and/or certification in Redhat Openshift
IBM Certified Maximo Deployment Professional or other equivalent level of technical certification
Understanding of React and component-based front-end development, with the ability to build supporting interfaces or utilities where required
