Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases that ensure software meets specifications, requirements, and operational needs
Execute unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing to identify defects before deployment
Evaluate software performance, scalability, and reliability against operational requirements
Verify that capabilities meet functional and non-functional requirements including security, usability, and operational suitability
Validate that software meets operational needs through user acceptance testing with actual operators and stakeholders
Identify, document, and track defects, then work with developers to ensure they're actually fixed
Build and maintain test environments including test data, test scripts, and test tools
Test capabilities across multiple environments (development, staging, production) and platforms (Windows, Linux, mobile, network devices)
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and operators to refine testing strategies and priorities
Provide clear testing results and recommendations to stakeholders who need to make deployment decisions
Support troubleshooting and debugging efforts when capabilities don't perform as expected
Qualification
Required
Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases
Experience with various testing methodologies (unit, integration, system, acceptance testing)
Strong ability to identify, document, and track software defects systematically
Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks
Understanding of software development lifecycle and quality assurance processes
Ability to evaluate software against security, performance, and operational requirements
Strong communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to both developers and non-technical stakeholders
Willingness to travel CONUS/OCONUS with limited notice when operations require it
Preferred
Experience testing CNO capabilities, offensive tools, or operational software
Background in software development or reverse engineering
Experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence)
Understanding of network protocols and system internals
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration
