Responsibilities

Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures

Participate in the construction, installation, renovation, maintenance, and repair of district facilities by utilizing tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the maintenance trade

Perform skilled journey level work for the assigned trade

Lead and serve as the technical expert for an assigned crew. Guide, direct, and coach others regarding application and interpretation of technical trade skills

Plan, prioritize, and assign work tasks to crew members

Instruct crew members in proper work methods and standards, monitor crew work quality, ensure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices, provide performance feedback, and input performance evaluations

Identify areas needing repair or maintenance and take corrective action

Maintain accurate records of material and costs

Provide input on the selection of crew members

Assist the supervisor with getting quotes for contract assignments when required

Perform related work as assigned or required

Qualification

Required

High School diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the assigned trade required

Equivalent combination of education and experience

Valid driver's class 'A' CDL restricted license, possession of NCDA&CS Certified License with Turf endorsement, or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire, NCDA&CS Registered Technician card, or Certified Applicator card with P phase preferred for Grounds positions

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license or ability to provide own transportation

Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
