3+ years expPRAB, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for the preparation of equipment drawings required for customer approval and shop manufacturing. The role involves acting as the project lead throughout the design, fabrication, and start-up phases, ensuring effective communication with customers and shop personnel.

Responsibilities
Promote excellence throughout the department
Development of proper and efficient equipment designs, including large scale systems
Production of detailed mechanical equipment drawings using CAD (Inventor and AutoCAD)
Management of projects to which you are assigned
CAD drawing file maintenance
Interface with shop floor fabricators and tradesmen
General project engineering and customer contact, including occasional customer visits
Production of quality and accurate parts, models, and drawings
Drawing transmittals
Adherence to schedules and release dates
Provide prompt and effective communications with customers and co-workers
Understanding of our company procedures and processes
Any duties or tasks that may be assigned by the manager
Qualification
Required
Dedication to excellence and a quality output
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of design experience in process or heavy industrial equipment, equipment design
Design experience with sheet metal, hoppers, chutes, structural supports
Proficient use of Inventor or Solidworks for 3D CAD, AutoCAD for 2D CAD, Excel, and Word
Strong project management, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Excellent customer support and management
Problem solving skills (Inter/Cross Departmental)
Willingness to travel (10% typical)
Preferred
Process Equipment design or operation experience preferred
Experience starting up or troubleshooting operating equipment desired
Ability to read electrical and pneumatic diagrams with general knowledge of industrial instrumentation and controls desired
