REGULATORY SPECIALIST III - 79010394
The State of Florida is seeking a Regulatory Specialist III to join the Division of Service Operations. This position is responsible for performing complex licensing activities, including determining applicant eligibility for examination, certification, licensure, or registration for various professions within the department.

Responsibilities
Independently reviews applications and supporting documents assigned through the department's document imaging system to determine applicants' qualifications for examination, certification, licensure or registration in accordance with the laws and rules. This includes license renewals and requests to change addresses, names and statuses, and responds to complex problems escalated to the Bureau from the Customer Contact Center. Provides exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers when giving directions on application processing requirements
Conducts research that requires extensive, higher level knowledge, knowledge of operating systems as well as business process requirements within the single licensing and document imaging systems
Processes applications by utilizing the department's licensing system. Provides applicants personal guidance regarding applications in writing and makes verbal contact with the applicant as necessary. Performs quality checks on applications prepared for board and committee meetings and maintains the respective lists by utilizing various software. Prepares applications for board and committee meetings
Assists with training employees. Develops and maintains training material, sample applications, and training tools, using various software
Participates in meetings and attends training sessions as scheduled. Participates in the testing of new application software and changes in processing procedures. Reports events, errors or trends to supervisor
Qualification
Required
Must have experience or knowledge of processing applications in compliance with local, state or federal guidelines
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Must have a working knowledge of DBPR licensing business processes
Knowledge of application requirements, including Florida Statutes, Board and Department rules, and educational programs
Ability to compile, organize and analyze data
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both verbally and written
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Basic Internet research and navigation
Knowledge of the department's document imaging and licensing systems
Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications
Basic grammar skills
