Optomi is seeking an experienced Software Developer focused on API and web applications. The role involves providing technical leadership in building secure, scalable APIs and modern CI/CD pipelines for a customer-facing enterprise application.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI

Collaborate closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless API integration

Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployments

Implement enterprise-grade security practices (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSL/TLS)

Write clean, modular, and well-tested code with strong documentation

Participate in peer code reviews and promote coding best practices

Support deployments across multiple environments

Collaborate with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders

Continuously evaluate and improve development and deployment processes

Required

6+ years of professional software development experience

Strong proficiency in Python, with deep experience using FastAPI (or Flask)

Experience building and deploying secure, high-performance RESTful APIs

Backend development experience with Node.js

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps)

Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

Working knowledge of Docker and multi-environment deployments

Strong understanding of API and application security best practices

Senior-level API development expertise in enterprise environments

Strong understanding of secure, scalable backend architecture

Comfort working in hybrid onshore/offshore team models

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

A proactive mindset focused on quality, security, and continuous improvement

Preferred

Experience with frontend and backend integration workflows

Exposure to Kubernetes and microservices architectures

Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation

Experience with enterprise API management platforms

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
