Front end Web Developer - Mid to Experienced Level (Maryland)
The National Security Agency (NSA) is currently seeking experienced Front End Web Developers to join the NSA Web team responsible for designing and developing state-of-the-art websites and web applications for the Agency intranet.

Responsibilities
Consulting extensively with customers to elicit project requirements, provide content strategy services, and establish and communicate project timelines and milestones
Collaborating with team members, as needed, to ensure technical solutions are implemented to meet project requirements
Communicating ideas through low and high fidelity mockups
Designing, developing, and implementing user-friendly, professional, visually-pleasing, accessible websites and user-interfaces for web applications
Provide customer service support on web based tools
Qualification
Required
Degree must be in Web Design or Web Development, or a related field (for example, Web Technologies, Computer Science, Programming, Visual Communications, UI/UX, Graphic Design)
Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience
Relevant experience must be a combination of both web design and web development. Web design may include: web layout, graphic web design and navigation principles, information architecture, content strategy, usability, user-centered design, using graphic design software. Web development may include: using web-authoring software, web programming languages

Relevant experience must be a combination of web design, web development, and project management. Web design may include: web layout, graphic web design and navigation principles, information architecture, content strategy, usability, user-centered design, using graphic design software. Web development may include: using web-authoring software, web programming languages. Project management experience must include leading one or more web projects
Additionally, must have experience applying current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
Preferred
Designing graphics appropriate for websites (e.g. screen resolutions, how to create graphics for use in responsive HTML layouts, etc)
Creating and effectively arranging graphics, images and all other content into a creative, cohesive, functional, and visually-pleasing website utilizing best practices in User Interface/User Experience design
Turning a graphic layout into a fully functional web page (i.e., knowing how to incorporate graphical elements into a responsive HTML framework)
Translating written/verbal themes and ideas into appropriate visual design
Creating original artwork using image editing programs (ability to illustrate a plus)
Proficiency in HTML and CSS required. Sass is a plus. Must be comfortable hand-coding HTML without use of a WYSIWYG. Proficiency using CSS for layout and positioning. Proficiency in JavaScript, Jquery, and/or Bootstrap a plus
Proficiency with code editing software such as Sublime. Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop
Knowledge of requirements as defined in Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) a plus
Experience with WordPress or other content management systems a plus
Strong understanding of web design principles and best practices
Strong understanding of information architecture, navigation, and usability principles
