Advanced Diesel Repair Technician (Frederickson, WA)

Waste Connections is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Diesel Mechanic in Frederickson, WA, to support their heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance teams. The role involves conducting preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks/trailers
Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
Use diagnostic tools and software (Cummins Insite, Davie‑4, Allison DOC)
Perform DOT and OSHA‑compliant safety inspections
Execute MIG welding and basic fabrication tasks
Test drive vehicles to confirm repair quality/performance
Record repairs, parts, and hours using fleet maintenance software
Review and act on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Communicate repairs and issues effectively with drivers and supervisors
Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance

Qualification

Required

Minimum of 3 years heavy truck/diesel mechanic experience
Intermediate proficiency with diagnostic tools and software
Valid Driver's License; Class B CDL preferred (or obtain within 90 days)
Welding experience (MIG) preferred
Solid understanding of DOT, OSHA, and vehicle safety standards
Ability to read and apply service and technical documentation
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Own basic mechanic tool set
