Responsibilities

Serve as liaison for the Civil/Small Claims/Landlord Tenant Unit with judges, court administrative staff, attorneys, litigants, and other governmental agencies for the purpose of explaining and interpreting policies, procedures, and actions and to authorize or take further action on the most difficult or complex matters
Assign, monitor, review, and evaluate the work of subordinate employees
Facilitate and implement training/cross-training opportunities for staff, provide feedback and guidance for ongoing training and performance goals
Coordinate the work of court employees and matters such as work schedules, recruitment, hiring, development of position descriptions, resolution of employee concerns, discipline, and performance evaluations
Oversee daily operation of workflow tasks, establishing work priorities and adjusting to achieve work unit efficiency and effectiveness
Prepare narrative and statistical reports and participate in leadership team meetings regarding the development of local court operational process, procedures, and policy to ensure court compliance with all applicable statutes, laws, and rules
Initiate procedural changes or apply changes to administrative regulations in areas supervised
Participate and provide input in developing short- and long-term goals
Serve as a member of various committees to foster and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and community partners

Required

The qualified candidate must have an associate's degree in business, management, or a related field
Five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory or staff-support experience. Qualifying OJD experience would be at the equivalent of Court Operations Associate or above
Your recent experience must reflect staff support or supervision, directly or through lead workers, of staff performing a wide variety of clerical, analytical, and technical support duties
The supervisory experience must include most, or all, of the following: special projects, developing and updating policies and procedures, hiring or recommending hiring, training, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, responding to staff concerns, and handling disciplinary actions
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to seven (7) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
Experience supervising staff, with demonstrated success in training, motivating, assigning and evaluating work, disciplining, and coaching
Experience managing operations, projects, or teams
Technical experience with proficiency using software programs, databases, and electronic file management
Communication experience to include direct service to the public/customers, explaining rules/policies/procedures/decisions or organizational practices

Salary offers are made with consideration of the candidate’s education and experience.
