Vellum Mortgage, Inc. is seeking a Senior Underwriter to partner with their loan origination staff in creating high quality, insurable mortgage loans. The role involves evaluating collateral and credit packages, making sound credit decisions, and serving as a key resource for loan officers.

Responsibilities

Underwrite FHA, VA, FNMA, FHLMC, USDA, VHDA, MD-CDA, Non-conforming, and Vellum Portfolio Products within credit and quality standards

Underwrite a minimum of 60 units per month. Maintain a daily workload as needed to ensure prompt turnaround time as dictated by management

Function as a technical resource to Loan Officers and Loan Managers

Enter complete and accurate data in systems to ensure data integrity

Support team members to identify potential solutions/alternatives for complex loan files

Maintain knowledge of underwriting guidelines and stay current with department requirements

Provide prompt, quality service to the origination team in a friendly and professional manner, supporting the inclusive, positive Vellum Mortgage culture
